Kevin Helander
(Electric Guitar)
Kevin Helander has been a respected name in the Twin Cities
Rock Scene for over ten years. He began his career in High
school where he was first introduced to Matthew and joined
Matthew's band, The Dirt Bags, which later became the Blood
Brothers. Kevin was also a member of Concordia Academy's
worship band, but took on a very different direction when he was
asked to join a band that later became the legendary band,
Minus Poseur. After making it to the final round of the 93X Battle
of the Bands contest, Minus Poseur quickly became a well known
frequent act at the famed Rock Nightclub. The band opened for
some of the biggest hard rock bands in the country to include
Powerman 5000, Nonpoint and American Headcharge.
After the band broke up in 2007, Kevin began a solo project
under the alias, "Panopticon Report", in which he writes
produces, arranges all of the music for. He is currently working
on his sophomore album called "The Burning".
Kevin now plays in the Minneapolis Rock band Amused To Death
as the bass player, but found it to be a personal victory when he
reunited with Matthew and helped formed the concept of EAP.
Kevin was the producer for the title track from Matthew's debut
album "Screaming from the Witch's Tower". He plays a huge role
in how the bands music is arranged for live shows. Matthew often
refers to Kevin as the one who "keeps the soul of rock and roll
alive in the band" and will even say that Kevin is the provider of
"The Exotic Ambiance" which the band prides itself in creating.
With his longtime friendship and commitment to Matthew's music,
he continues to be on of the largest contributing factors in
Matthew's creative career.
