Dan DeMuth
(Drums)
Dan DeMuth is hands down one of the most active musicians in
the Twin Cities music scene, and even though he usually plays in
a half dozen other bands on any given day, it doesn't stop there.
Dan is also one of the head sound engineers for the Minneapolis
Nightclub, Hell's Kitchen. He also books the music there for
certain nights of the week. Dan also works as an in studio sound
tech for all Greater Than Records releases and works part time
at Toefist Studios doing mixing and mastering.
Dan was the co-founder of the indie rock band, The Oh Eeks,
which is how he came to join EAP. When Matthew began
recording "Screaming from the Witch's Tower" with Johnny Park
who is the front man for the The Oh Eeks, Johnny encouraged
Matthew have an actual drummer record as opposed to using
MIDI programed drums, which is what Matthew was originally
going to do. After hearing a few takes, Matthew decided to hire
Dan as the drummer for the album and was blown away by his
natural ability to pick up and play. Dan also co-produced most of
the album as well as played a large role in the mixing and
mastering.
When Matthew decided to showcase his songs in the fall of 2009
at the Fine Line Music Cafe, he asked Dan if he would feel like
sitting in for a live set. By the time the set was over, the band
was formed and EAP became official with Dan as the full time
drummer.
